Performing Ensembles

The conservatory’s programs include private music lessons, alongside music theory, theoretical courses, additional fields, enrichment (i.e. composition, musical production and a listening club), and primarily - performing ensembles and orchestras.

The conservatory’s orchestras and performing ensembles head a variety of activities that take place alongside individual music lessons.

The City’s Orchestra

The conservatory’s flagship, comprised of about 35 wind instrument players grades 9th-12th. The orchestra repertoire is rich with genres, from classical music and on to popular music, folk music, Israeli, Jewish and Big-Band.

The orchestra has a national and international reputation, known for its high quality, it has performed in main and formal events for many years in Israel and abroad, and has won many prizes in international competitions. In its bi-yearly performances abroad, the orchestra has had the pleasure of performing in the White House twice.

The Youth Concert Band

Players who join it graduate from the Young Orchestra. After several years of playing in the City Orchestra, players deemed suitable move on to the Youth Orchestra.

The Young Orchestra

Its aim is to allow starting players to experience and learn the secrets of orchestral playing. For students grades 4th-6th.

Other Ensembles

Young recorder ensemble, recorder ensemble, young flute ensemble, young clarinet ensemble, young guitar ensemble, bow instrument ensemble, Dixie ensemble, a variety of advanced piano ensembles and more.

 

Alumni Orchestra

Formed in 1979 by a cluster of the conservatory’s alums, former members of the The Youth Concert Band, wishing to continue playing together. Nowadays, includes music lovers of all ages, and taking in new alums. All the orchestra’s players work in various professions in their daily lives, but make time once a week for orchestra rehearsals. The orchestra performs once a year in and out of Kiryat Ono, holding yearly meetups with other orchestras, and has taken tours of Bulgaria, Italy and Germany.
